Kanako Suwa is a Third Culture Kid turned international school teacher, currently working as an EAL teacher in Vietnam. Originally from Japan, she uses her experiences of growing up abroad and learning English as an additional language to connect with her students. She has a bachelor’s degree in bilingual education and an M.Ed in international education.
She is also on the board of ELLSA, one of SENIA’s partner organisation, and hopes to build a bridge between special education and multilingual education so that students who are dual-identified can receive the support they need.
Outside of work, you can find Kanako relaxing by the pool, reading plenty of books, cooking, and talking to friends from around the world.
