Johanna Means holds a M.Ed. in Mental and Physical Disabilities from the University of Pittsburgh and an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership with a Special Education concentration from Gwynedd Mercy University – both located in the U.S.A. She currently serves as the Head of Elementary and Head of Inclusion at the International Learning Group (ILG) School; the first-ever IB World School in Prishtina, Kosovo.
She has worked in special education and early childhood through university level for over 15 years and across multiple countries, including the United States, Kazakhstan, China, United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, and now Kosovo. Passionate about inclusive education and parent education on early childhood and developmental milestones, Dr. Means has led many presentations and parent workshops, including publishing her doctoral dissertation on the perception of collaboration amongst parents and teachers of individuals with disabilities. Johanna serves as an international mentor for individuals in Brazil and Uzbekistan, a member of the National Early Childhood Intervention Council (NECIC) of Malaysia, and a member of the General Assembly of SpaceEd, a youth non-profit located in Kosovo. She has worked to establish inclusive organizations throughout her travels.
