Hello! My name is Dalia Umanskiy. I have been working as a speech language pathologist with children for more than fifteen years. While many people think that speech therapists help chidren develop better speech (which is very true), we have so much more on our plate! My goal is to help students with their speech, language, reading, writing, and thinking skills, especially when it relates to the learning process. This is what I have been doing throughout my career while working in clinics, schools, and rehabilitation centers. Currently, I am a part of Hong Kong International School where I work as an R2 speech, language, and learning specialist.
I graduated from Adelphi University in New York State with a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology and also became certified as a teacher for students with speech and language disabilities. A few years after I enrolled in Bilingual Extension Institute at Columbia University in New York City where I received a certification in assessment and treatment of children who speak multiple languages. Since then I have been deeply interested in working with students and families from various cultural backgrounds.
I was raised in Kaliningrad, Russia, where I graduated from Kaliningrad State University with a Master’s degree in linguistics. Being a bilingual individual myself and seeing my children grow up as third culture kids feeds my passion for working with multicultural and multilingual families.

Jill Butterfield
Shortly after graduating from college with a bachelor’s degree in audiology and speech-language sciences, I ended up in a small classroom in Bangkok, Thailand. I quickly fell in love with the classroom and life abroad, and I went back to school to study elementary education. Fast forward to now, and I’m a qualified reading specialist in my eighth year teaching abroad. I live in Hong Kong, and I work at Hong Kong International school as a learning specialist.
